Asia Pacific is the second largest region in the world in terms of the consumption of fast food, and is expected to be the fifth fastest growing region in the next five years to 2021, surpassing the overall growth in fast food consumption of Latin America and North America. With the fastest growth in disposable incomes, along with a relatively young population base, the Asia Pacific region is expected to drive the growth of fast food consumption globally.

While drive-through, takeaway and eat-in options remain popular in the US fast food industry, online ordering and third-party delivery are becoming increasingly prominent as consumers choose more convenient methods of dining. Once confined to major cities, various third-party online ordering and delivery companies have made significant inroads in smaller municipalities. For example, DoorDash is now available in more than 200 locations.
